Words on the form, questions at the desk
Declarations come with their own vocabulary, and Oopbuy's help pages are translated from Chinese. This page defines the terms and answers what people ask most.
Where to get help

For your own parcel, Oopbuy's online customer service is the only party that can see it; the homepage lists 24/7 support. The contact page gives [email protected], and the official Discord server is at discord.gg/t7xmAYwZhU.
For a rule, the help centre is the source. Each quote on this site links to the page it came from. If something goes wrong at customs, start with the invoice: you can download it from Oopbuy or request it from support.
When you contact support about a declaration, give the parcel number, the route, and the exact question. Ask for answers in writing in the chat, and save a copy. If the answer contradicts a help page, ask which one applies; help pages are translated and sometimes lag behind the system.
Glossary of declaration terms
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Declaration | What you tell customs about the parcel: item types, quantities, unit prices, total value. |
| Self declaration | Mode where the system pre-fills lines from the parcel and you edit them. |
| Fuzzy declaration | Mode where you enter only the total; the system writes the lines. |
| Declared value | The amount on the declaration. It should match the actual value of the goods. |
| Declaration fee | Oopbuy's handling charge for the customs declaration, generally ¥8 per package. |
| Commercial parcel | A shipment customs treats as trade. Weight over 10 kg and many identical items point that way. |
| Tax free / DDP | Route labels saying tax is handled on the route; read the route notes for details. |
| IOSS | EU scheme where VAT is collected when the parcel is submitted; parcels up to €150. |
| Recipient tax | Tax payment method where the recipient pays duties and VAT at delivery. |
| Customs fastener | Oopbuy's translated term for a parcel held by customs, as in customs fastener insurance. |
| Rehearsal | Paid pre-packing (¥20) that gives the exact weight and shipping cost before you submit. |
| QC photos | Warehouse inspection photos, generally three per item, free. |
| GL / RL | Community shorthand for green light (ship it) and red light (exchange it) after QC photos. Not Oopbuy terms. |
| Volume weight | L × W × H in cm divided by a route coefficient (8000, 6000 or 5000); billing uses the larger weight. |
Frequently asked questions
Does a Spreadsheet purchase the product for me?
No. It helps you find an original seller listing. You select and fund a supported purchase through the agent.
Does warehouse storage give me the same time to return an item?
No. The conditional return window uses stock-in timing, seller eligibility and item condition. Normal storage and unmatched packages have separate rules.
Do QC photos establish authenticity or fit?
No. They show visible details and labels. A measurement can help with fit, but visual inspection is not authentication or functional testing.
Who decides the declared value, me or Oopbuy?
Oopbuy’s dated FAQ describes selecting a declaration mode and checking the amount. The declaration still has to follow the applicable destination valuation and documentation requirements.
Can I declare a lower value to pay less tax?
No. Declare what the goods are worth. Oopbuy lists a too-low declaration as its first unreasonable example, and the risks, from fines to returns, are yours.
Is the ¥8 declaration fee a tax?
No. It is Oopbuy's charge for preparing the declaration, generally ¥8 per package depending on the route.
I am in the EU. Will I pay VAT twice?
The dated operator note describes a process to request a refund of prepaid tax with receipts if a destination charge occurs. Confirm eligibility and the current process; a refund is not automatic.
My parcel is 11 kg. Must I split it?
Weight alone does not decide. Confirm the route limits, packing needs, real intended use and destination requirements. Separate parcels can change fees and tax treatment; neither choice guarantees clearance.
Can I edit the declaration after submitting?
The operator note read 10 October 2026 describes an edit lock on IOSS totals and cancelling/resubmitting as a correction method. Check the current account controls and support process before acting.
Does insurance cover a parcel customs holds?
Only if the actual protection and conditions cover the event. Check insured limits, evidence, deadlines and exclusions, including cooperation with clearance. The old tutorial does not establish present coverage.
Where do I get an invoice?
Download it from Oopbuy, or ask online customer service.
Does the declared value change my shipping cost?
Freight commonly depends on weight, size, route and destination. Value can also affect service limits, protection and destination charges. Read the full route conditions; this worksheet does not quote the bill.
What is the difference between the declaration and the invoice?
The declaration travels with the parcel and tells customs what is inside and what it is worth. The invoice is a document you produce when customs asks for proof. They should tell the same story; if they do not, the invoice is what customs will believe.
Why did Oopbuy show me a risk alert when I ordered?
Oopbuy's Customs and Taxation page says the system gives risk alerts for products during order submission and review, and recommends a lower-risk route once the goods reach the warehouse. An alert is a warning about the item and the route, not a judgement on your declaration.
Which currency do I declare in?
Use the required form currency and the conversion required by the destination and declaration process. Keep the original receipt currency and ask the agent or carrier when the required rate is unclear.

Notices and changesHelp before and after the declaration
Before paying for goods
Ask the seller about stock, version and measurements. Ask the agent about supported goods and the route to your destination. Save the agreed option.
At the warehouse
Use the item conversation for a wrong variant or missing photo. Send the selected option and the specific discrepancy; check the conditional return deadline immediately.
After parcel submission
Use the parcel record for packing, freight adjustments and tracking. Keep the actual route, dimensions and payment records.
After receiving
Keep labels and packing while checking contents. Document a shortage or damage promptly and use the evidence requirements for the service purchased. Do not publish addresses or account identifiers in community posts.
